4 miles with some speed work
I did not want to run tonight. I could have come home and gone straight to bed. I got to the downtown store early and sat in my car and read on my iphone for a while. I sooooo could have gone to sleep then! But I went inside and changed. And then off we went. I’m not sure anyone in my group was really up for tonight’s outing!
Sooo …. we get instructions from the Pathways coordinator that we’re going to be doing speed work. My walking coach downtown likes speed work. The one at the Kings Pointe store doesn’t.
It took us a mile and a half to get to the “track.” And then I made sure to hit my lap button when I started and finished a speed lap.
My downtown walking coach is fast. He walks faster than I run! So, when we started, I did my best to stay right behind him!
800meters – 12:47 – WOW! It was LONGER than I thought it would be. But I stayed right behind my coach! The recovery walk back to the water was super slow … I should have just left the Garmin stopped!!!
800meters 12:35 – This one was a little easier because I knew where the end was! The first time, I was just following my coach!
400meters 10:44 – I started off running right next to my coach (who’s walking, remember) and I ran next to him the entire time. Just after we started he said we were going under an 11 minute pace. That it was a little fast but he wasn’t scared! LOL
400meters 11:22 – Not as fast as the other 400m, but not bad. My poor legs were almost noodles!!! My left ankle hurt just after we started this lap. But I pushed through!
THEN we had to go a mile back to the store. I sure could have used someone to carry me!!
Wore my new KB skirt again! I LOVE IT!!!! I love the pinks!! I love the pockets!
I came home and took a hot bath in epsom salts.
Now I’m ready for bed!
